In 2013 Francisco stood on top of his kiteboard for 24h non-stop in a swimming pool testing all the equipment and training to the Porto-Lagos Odyssey. This year, with the same purpose, Francisco will put himself through another demanding test, a pool marathon of 36 hours on top of a board!
Everything will happen in the Oeiras Marina, starting on the 20th of March, when Francisco will stand in his kiteboard at 9AM of Friday and will remain until 9PM of Saturday. The goal is to hang on for the 36 hours without stepping out of his board. He will alternate between his Kiteboards and a Stand-up paddle board to interact with the public at the pool.
Besides having the opportunity to test the adaptation to the equipment (helmet, suit, communications and the body’s reaction to his new diet), it will also be a physical and psychological test to prepare him for the next big odyssey of 2015, which will be announced to the media in the beginning of the event.
The event will be open for the public and will have activities organized by Francisco’s team and his sponsors (MINI Portugal, Lusitania Seguros and Montepio). During the event, the public will be able to interact with the athlete and even paddle next to him in the Stand-up Paddle boards provided by the SupXperience school. And for those who just want to relax we will have a lounge space with nice food and music to enjoy the seaside view.
We invite all of Francisco’s friends and followers to show up in the Oeiras Marina next Friday, 20th of March, and also on Saturday, 21st of March, to support and motivate Francisco to achieve his goal, 36 hours on top of his kiteboard.
