Francisco Lufinha, World Record holder for the longest journey kitesurfing without stops , promises to suprime with a new extreme challenge : to connect the Azores to Mainland, crossing more than 1500 Km in a journey that can take about 5 to 10 days to complete.
This challenge will have a new twist: mil be made in partnership with the german Anke Brandt, who is also the World Record holder for the longest journey kitesurfing without stops, connecting Bahrain to Abu Dhabi (489 km in 30), joins the team and they will share miles in 8 hour shifts between them.
Apart from all the obstacles they will face (wind variations, waves and clouds) connecting Azores to the Mainland will require extra bravure from the athletes, since in case of evacuation any ship can take between one and two days to secure the rescue.
To escort Francisco and Anke on this adventure, we will have a support sailing boat with a doctor, physiotherapist, four skippers, one photographer and video crew.
